If you already have a foundation in Chinese and hope to study in China for one semester with scholarship support, UChinese has organized the March 2027 one-semester program at Hangzhou Normal University under the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship. The scholarship period is five months, and the application deadline is October 31, 2026, Beijing Time.
01 | University and program overview
杭州师范大学的官方英文名称为Hangzhou Normal University。学校是浙江省重点建设高校，以师范教育为传统，现有仓前、玉皇山和下沙三个校区。本次一学期研修项目2027年3月入学，资助期限为5个月，可申请方向包括国际中文教育、汉语言文学、中国历史和中国哲学。
The official English name of the university is Hangzhou Normal University. It is a key university supported by Zhejiang Province, with a long tradition in teacher education and campuses in Cangqian, Yuhuangshan, and Xiasha. The one-semester program begins in March 2027 and is funded for five months. Available study areas include International Chinese Language Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, and Chinese Philosophy.
02 | Scholarship coverage
国际中文教师奖学金覆盖学费、住宿费、生活费和综合医疗保险费。一学期研修生的生活费标准为每月2500元人民币，由接收院校按月发放；综合医疗保险费标准为400元／人。学校一般提供免费双人间宿舍；经本人申请并获学校批准后选择校外住宿的，其他类奖学金生校外住宿费标准为700元／月。
The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, a living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance. One-semester students receive a monthly living allowance of RMB 2,500, paid by the host university, and medical insurance is funded at RMB 400 per person. The host university normally provides a free double room. With prior application and university approval, scholarship recipients in non-doctoral categories who live off campus may receive an accommodation allowance of RMB 700 per month.
03 | Eligibility
申请人需为非中国籍人士，对华友好，无违法犯罪记录，身心健康、品学兼优，并有志于从事中文教育、教学或相关工作。年龄原则上为16至35周岁，以2026年9月1日为计算节点；在职中文教师可放宽至45周岁。一学期研修项目需HSK三级达到180分，并提供HSKK成绩。原则上，近3年内享受过同类一学期或一学年奖学金的申请人不再录取。
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, be friendly toward China, have no criminal record, be in good physical and mental health, demonstrate good academic and personal conduct, and intend to work in Chinese-language education or a related field. Applicants should normally be aged 16 to 35 as of September 1, 2026; the age limit may be extended to 45 for in-service Chinese teachers. The one-semester program requires at least 180 points on HSK Level 3 and an HSKK score. In principle, applicants who received the same type of one-semester or one-year scholarship within the previous three years will not be admitted again.
04 | Application documents
所有申请人需提交护照照片页扫描件、两年有效期内的HSK和HSKK成绩报告、推荐机构负责人出具的推荐信，以及最高学历证明或预计毕业证明。提供预计毕业证明的申请人，须在学校开学注册日期前补交正式最高学历证明。学校还可根据实际情况要求补充其他材料。
All applicants must submit a scanned copy of the passport photo page, valid HSK and HSKK score reports issued within the previous two years, a recommendation letter from the head of the recommending institution, and the highest academic certificate or proof of expected graduation. Applicants using proof of expected graduation must provide the final certificate before university registration. The university may request additional documents where necessary.

Deadline and application procedure:
2027年3月入学项目的学生申请截止日期为2026年10月31日（北京时间）。申请人需在国际中文教师奖学金系统中查询推荐机构与接收院校，在线提交材料，并持续关注申请进程、审核意见和奖学金评审结果。获奖后，申请人需与杭州师范大学确认来华留学手续，并按录取通知书规定时间报到。
The application deadline for the March 2027 intake is October 31, 2026, Beijing Time. Applicants must use the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship system to identify a recommending institution and host university, submit documents online, and monitor the review comments and scholarship result. Scholarship recipients must then confirm study-in-China procedures with Hangzhou Normal University and register on the date stated in the admission notice.
