Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) welcomes eligible international applicants to apply for its full-time master’s programmes through the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), Type B, for Fall 2027.

Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Selection is competitive and based on academic merit.

5. Eligibility Requirements | 申请条件
Nationality | 国籍要求
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
申请人须为非中国籍公民。
Applicants who previously held Chinese citizenship must meet the university’s nationality requirements, including holding their current foreign passport or citizenship certificate for at least four years and providing the required evidence of two years of residence abroad within the previous four years.
原为中国公民、后加入外国国籍的申请人，须符合学校相关国籍要求，包括持有外国护照或国籍证明文件至少四年，并提供最近四年内在国外居住至少两年的相关证明。
Applicants with one or both parents holding Chinese citizenship must provide applicable supporting documents, such as proof of foreign nationality acquired at birth or documentation confirming cancellation of Chinese nationality.
父母一方或双方为中国公民的申请人，须根据自身情况提供出生时取得外国国籍的证明，或注销中国国籍的相关证明等材料。
Health | 健康要求
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and able to undertake normal full-time study.
申请人须身心健康，能够正常完成全日制学习。
Age | 年龄要求
Applicants must be under 30 years old by 1 September 2027.
申请人截至2027年9月1日须未满30周岁。
Academic Qualifications | 学历要求
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree by 1 September 2027.
申请人须在2027年9月1日前取得学士学位。
Final-year undergraduate students may apply with a pre-graduation certificate stating the expected graduation date. Final degree documents must be provided at registration.
本科应届毕业生可提交注明预计毕业时间的预毕业证明申请，入学报到时须提供最终学历学位材料。
Academic Performance | 学业成绩要求
CSC applicants must have a previous academic average of 80% or above, together with strong academic performance and learning ability.
CSC奖学金申请人的前一阶段平均成绩须达到80分及以上（百分制），并具备良好的学术表现和学习能力。
GRE, GMAT, or other relevant results may be submitted as supplementary evidence.
申请人可提交GRE、GMAT等成绩作为学术能力的补充证明。
Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission or a scholarship.
达到最低申请条件不代表一定获得录取或奖学金。

Native Chinese speakers applying for Chinese-taught programmes and native English speakers applying for English-taught programmes may be exempt from the corresponding language certificate, subject to university requirements.

School-specific requirement: The School of Public Policy and Administration requires HSK Level 6, 180 or above, for Chinese-taught programmes.

1. Passport | 护照
A clear copy of the passport’s personal information page. The passport must be valid until at least 31 December 2027.
护照个人信息页清晰扫描件，护照有效期须至少至2027年12月31日。
Applicants currently in mainland China must also submit a valid visa or residence permit.
目前在中国大陆的申请人，还须提供有效签证或居留许可扫描件。
Applicants without a passport may initially use a national ID, but must obtain and submit their passport to the Admissions Office as soon as possible.
申请时尚未取得护照者可暂用身份证申请，但须尽快办理护照并向招生办公室补交。
2. Bachelor’s Degree Documents | 本科学历学位证明
Submit the undergraduate diploma. Applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in China must submit both their degree certificate and graduation certificate.
提交本科学历学位证明。在中国完成本科学习的申请人须同时提供学位证书和毕业证书。
Final-year students may submit a pre-graduation certificate indicating the expected graduation date.
应届毕业生可提交注明预计毕业时间的预毕业证明。
3. Academic Transcripts | 本科成绩单
Complete undergraduate transcripts covering every semester or academic year.
本科阶段各学期或各学年的完整成绩单。
4. Two Recommendation Letters | 两封推荐信
Recommendation letters from two associate professors or professors.
由两名副教授或教授出具的推荐信。
5. Master’s Study Plan | 硕士学习计划
Prepare the study plan using the university’s required template.

6. Language Certificate | 语言能力证明
Submit an eligible HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, or PTE result unless an applicable exemption is accepted by the university.
提交符合要求的HSK、雅思、托福、多邻国或PTE成绩，符合学校语言豁免规定者除外。
7. Non-Criminal Record Certificate | 无犯罪记录证明
Submit a non-criminal record certificate within its six-month validity period.
提交在六个月有效期内的无犯罪记录证明。
8. Supervisor Acceptance Letter | 导师接收函
A supervisor acceptance letter is mandatory for applicants to the following schools:

9. Research Achievements and Awards | 科研成果及获奖证明
Provide recognised awards, research achievements, publications, and other supporting materials, if available.

10. Foreigner Physical Examination Form | 外国人体格检查表
Submit a completed form within its six-month validity period.
提交在六个月有效期内的完整外国人体格检查表。
The form must include the applicant’s photograph, a stamp across the photograph, the examining physician’s signature, and the hospital seal.
体检表须贴有申请人照片、加盖照片骑缝章，并有体检医生签字及医院盖章。
Incomplete or improperly certified forms will not be accepted.
项目不完整、缺少照片或相关签字盖章的体检表无效。
11. Bank Statement | 银行存款证明
The university’s application materials list a bank statement with a closing balance of at least USD 5,000.
学校申请材料要求提供余额不少于5,000美元的银行存款证明。
12. Portfolio | 作品集
Applicants for architecture or design programmes must submit their own art or design portfolio.
申请建筑或设计类专业的学生须提交个人艺术或设计作品集。
13. Additional Materials | 其他补充材料
Submit any additional documents requested by the university or the relevant academic school.
根据学校或申请学院要求提交其他补充材料。
8. Document Preparation Rules | 材料提交要求
- All documents must be in Chinese or English. Documents in other languages require notarised Chinese or English translations.
所有材料须为中文或英文。其他语言材料须附经公证的中文或英文译本。 - Electronic documents will be verified, and original documents will be checked at registration.
学校将审核电子申请材料，并在入学报到时核验原件。 - False, altered, or inconsistent documents may result in rejection or cancellation of admission.
提交虚假、篡改材料或原件与扫描件不一致者，可能被拒绝录取或取消录取资格。 - Avoid renewing your passport after submitting the application unless necessary, as changes may affect admission and visa documents.
提交申请后，无特殊原因请勿更换护照，以免影响录取及签证材料的信息一致性。

Step 1: Select a Programme | 第一步：选择专业
Review the programme list, confirm eligibility, and check whether the selected school requires a supervisor acceptance letter.

Step 2: Submit the NPU Application | 第二步：提交学校申请
Register through NPU’s official admission portal, complete the online application and psychological evaluation, and upload all required documents.
通过西北工业大学官方申请系统注册账号，完成在线申请及心理测评，并上传全部申请材料。

Applicants must also follow the CSC Type B submission instructions published by NPU.

Step 3: Pay the Application Fee | 第三步：缴纳申请费
Pay the non-refundable RMB 600 application fee to validate the university application.
缴纳600元人民币申请费，申请费不予退还，缴费后学校申请方为有效。
Incomplete or unsubmitted applications will not be processed.
未正式提交或材料不完整的申请将不予受理。
Step 4: Document and Academic Review | 第四步：材料及学术审核
The Admissions Office verifies application materials, and the academic school assesses academic qualifications and suitability.
招生办公室审核申请材料真实性，相关学院评估申请人的学术能力及专业适合度。
Monitor the application system and email regularly and respond promptly to requests for supplementary materials.
请及时查看申请系统和电子邮箱，并按要求补充材料、回复邮件。
Step 5: Interview or Examination | 第五步：面试或考核
Qualified applicants will be invited to an interview or examination, normally arranged within 7–10 working days after each batch deadline.
符合条件的申请人将受邀参加面试或考核，通常安排在各批次截止后的7至10个工作日内。
Instructions will be sent by email. Interview or examination results are normally communicated within two weeks after the assessment.
具体安排将通过电子邮件通知，考核结果通常在面试或考试结束后两周内通知。
An interview or admission result does not constitute a final CSC scholarship award unless officially confirmed.
面试结果或录取结果不等同于最终获得CSC奖学金，须以正式奖学金通知为准。
Step 6: Pay the Registration Deposit | 第六步：缴纳注册押金
Pre-admitted applicants must pay a RMB 3,000 registration deposit.
预录取申请人须缴纳3,000元人民币注册押金。
According to the university’s guidelines, the deposit will be refunded in one payment after registration, expected in December of the enrolment year, provided the student maintains active student status at the time of refund.
根据学校规定，学生完成入学注册后，注册押金预计于入学当年12月一次性退还；退款时学生须保持有效在读学籍。
Step 7: Download Admission Documents | 第七步：下载录取材料
Admitted CSC candidates should log in to their CSC accounts to download the Admission Notice and the Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW201).
获得录取的CSC学生须登录CSC账号，下载录取通知书及来华留学确认表（JW201）。
Use the required documents to apply for an X1 study visa at the relevant Chinese embassy or consulate.
请持相关材料前往中国驻外使领馆申请X1学习签证。
Step 8: Complete Registration | 第八步：办理入学报到

The International College is expected to issue detailed registration guidance around July 2027.

12. Important Conditions | 重要说明
- Applicants may not hold multiple scholarships simultaneously.
申请人不得同时享受多项奖学金。 - Scholarship selection is competitive and subject to official approval.
奖学金实行择优评审，最终结果以正式批准为准。 - Application updates and results will be sent to the email registered in the NPU application system.
申请进度及结果将发送至学校申请系统中登记的邮箱。 - Changes to the programme, major, teaching language, or study period after admission generally require university approval.
录取后变更项目、专业、授课语言或学习期限，原则上须经学校批准。 - Admission and scholarship eligibility remain subject to document verification and registration requirements.
录取及奖学金资格须通过材料核验，并符合学校入学注册要求。
